Jamie Beaton
Co-Founder of Concord & CEO of Crimson Education
Jamie built Crimson from his Harvard dorm room at 18. Kevin led its expansion across 25+ countries, setting up teams and operations from scratch. We learned firsthand how complex and frustrating the visa process could be, even for exceptional talent.
This is why we built Concord - to help ambitious founders, operators, and professionals secure strategic visas
We believe world-class talent should never be held back by bureaucracy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the ones we get the most, answered by our team.
I'm not sure I'm "extraordinary" enough for an O-1A.
The O-1A isn't about how extraordinary you feel. It's about how your profile maps to 3 of 8 objective criteria: funding raised, press, judging roles, published work, awards, high salary, critical roles at known companies, or membership in selective organisations. Most founders we speak with either already qualify or are very close, with focused preparation, they're typically ready within 4–6 months. The fastest way to find out where you stand is our free visa assessment.
I'm early in my career. Can you help me figure out how to build a profile for the O-1A?
Yes — profile guidance is one of the things we do best. The O-1A is built on your own work, not ours, but most early-career founders and professionals don't know which activities actually move the needle. We map the gaps in your current profile against the 8 criteria and point you towards achievable next steps, the kinds of speaking slots, judging panels, press angles, publications, and memberships that genuinely count as evidence. With 6–12 months of focused effort in the right direction, most people who come to us early leave filing-ready. We offer free profile guidance for founders and early-career professionals, start with the free visa assessment and we'll take it from there.
I'm not sure which visa I actually need.
You're not alone — most people who book a call start here. The right visa depends on your goals, your timeline, your nationality, your employer situation, and whether you want a work visa or a path to permanent residency. We cover the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, so we can map the full picture and tell you the fastest realistic path. The free visa assessment on our site is built exactly for this, 30 minutes to get a clear direction.
What's the difference between Australia's 482, 186, and 858 visas?
The 482 (Skills in Demand) is employer-sponsored and temporary. The 186 (ENS) is employer-sponsored and permanent — often the next step after a 482. The 858 (Global Talent) is for highly skilled individuals in priority sectors and goes straight to permanent residency, no employer needed. Which one fits depends on your profile, your sector, and whether you have sponsorship lined up.
How much does it cost?
Government filing fees are fixed and public. Our legal fees depend on the visa type, we give you a clear, flat quote after your assessment. No hourly billing, no surprises. The assessment itself is free.
